PETALING JAYA: Malaysia have a fighting chance to reach the Sudirman Cup semi-finals as they will face Denmark in the quarter-finals in Suzhou, China.
In the draw conducted on Thursday (May 18), Malaysia were drawn to meet Denmark. They will play on Friday (May 19) at 5pm.
If they win, they will face the winners of the tie between second seeds South Korea and Taiwan.
Said team captain Tan Kian Meng: "We do have a good draw but it's important that we stay focused. We don't want to put undue pressure."
Denmark lost 0-5 to China in the final Group A tie to emerge as the runners-up, just before the draw.
Top seeds China, who have been on fire by winning all their ties so far, will have a tricky match against Indonesia.
The other quarter-finals will be between Thailand and Japan; and second seeds South Korea and Taiwan.
