PETALING JAYA: Shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik pulled out of the Hong Kong Open on Wednesday (Sept 13).

The duo were supposed to play teammates Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the men's doubles first round but decided to concede a walkover as Wooi Yik is still not fully fit after coming down with a high fever on the eve of the China Open final on Sunday.

Aaron-Wooi Yik, who had lost out to home favourites Liang Weikeing-Wang Chang in the title match, will now rest and prepare for the Asian Games in Hangzhou from Sept 23 to Oct 8.

Meanwhile, Sze Fei-Izzuddin will face Taiwan's Lee Jhe-huei-Yang Po-hsuan in the second round tomorrow.
