PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun's fairytale run in the Indonesian Open ended with a runners-up finish.

The world No. 20 fought valiantly against China's world No. 2 Liang Weikeng-Wang Chang, before going down 21-19, 16-21, 12-21 in the final at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta on Sunday (June 9).

The defeat meant Wei Chong-Kai Wun's winless run against the Chinese pair extended to four matches.

The national pair can still be proud of their efforts after defying the odds to reach their first-ever World Tour Super 1000 competition final.

It was also Wei Chong-Kai Wun's first final since finishing runners-up in the Arctic Open last October.
