Aaron-Wooi Yik pass first group test with hard-fought win against English pair

Fighting show: Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik battle their way for first win in Paris.

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik had to come from behind to beat England's Ben Lane-Sean Vendy 19-21, 21-16, 21-11 in a hard fought opening Group A match in the Paris Olympics.

World No. 4 Aaron-Wooi Yik took time to get going against the tricky English pair and faced a scare after losing the first game narrowly at Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle on Saturday (July 27).

The former though used all their experience to come back strongly and win the next two games to put themselves on track to make it into the last eight.

Aaron-Wooi Yik should have no problems to win their next match against Canada's Adam Dong-Nyl Yakura on Sunday (July 28).
