PETALING JAYA: Men's singles shuttler Lee Zii Jia got his Paris Olympics campaign off to a fine start with a 21-14, 21-12 win over Sri Lanka's Viren Nettasinghe in Group G.

World No. 7 Zii Jia warmed up well for tougher challenges later in the competition with a straight game win over the world No. 70 Sri Lankan at Adidas Arena in Port de la Chapelle on Sunday (July 28).

The independent player will next face Spain's world No. 62 Pablo Abian on Wednesday (July 31) in his second group match.

Zii Jia should have no problems getting another win to book his spot in the round of 16.
