PETALING JAYA: Women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah pulled off a sensational win over top seeds and home favourites Baek Ha-na-Lee So-hee to march into the final of the Korean Open on Merdeka Day.

The world No. 9 played brilliantly to come away with a 21-18, 21-13 win over the world No. 2 Koreans in Mokpo on Saturday (Aug 31).

It was sweet revenge for Pearly-Thinaah, who lost to Ha-na-So-hee twice last year in the Malaysian Masters final and last eight of the Hangzhou Asian Games.

Pearly-Thinaah have now reached their first final this year and will take on another home pair, world No. 20 Jeong Na-eun-Kim Hye-jeong for the title on Sunday (Sept 1).

Na-eun-Hye-jeong were also on top of their game when they defeated teammates Lee Yu-lim-Shin Seung-chan 21-14, 21-11 to reach the final.

Pearly-Thinaah's last captured a World Tour title in the 2022 French Open.
