Soon Huat-Shevon finish as runners-up in China Open

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie's have lost to home pair Feng Yanzhe-Huang Dongping in the China Open final, ending their hopes of winning their first World Tour Super 1000 title.

The World No. 12 pair fought hard before losing 21-16, 14-21, 17-21 in 71 minutes to world No. 3 Yanzhe-Dongping at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou on Sunday (Sept 22).

Despite the defeat, it was the independent pair's best achievement so far after making the final of a Super 1000 event for the first time.
