Choong Hann to be head coach in Hkg?

PETALING JAYA: Will Malaysia’s Wong Choong Hann become the head coach in Hong Kong following improved form of his singles players?

Yesterday, Angus Ng Ka Long reached the final of the Macau Open after disposing of Alwi Farhan of Indonesia 8-21, 21-18, 21-16 in the men’s singles semi-finals.

World No. 25 Angus will face Jason Teh of Singapore and has a good chance of winning.

Choong Hann joined Hong Kong as the men’s singles coach last year July but it is learnt that he may be head the national squad following his good leadership and team management role.

Under his guidance, world No. 16 Lee Cheuk Yiu reached the finals of last year’s Hylo Open and Indian Open this year. Angus also finished as the runner-up of Thailand Open this year.
