Jun Hao loses to Jonatan in Denmark Open first round

ODENSE: Men singles shuttler Leong Jun Hao could not reproduce the same form that saw him upstaging Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the Denmark Open.

On Wednesday (Oct 16), Jun Hao went down tamely 16-21, 14-21 in the first round at the Jyske Bank Arena in Odense.

"I was not at my best. My body didn't feel right just days before the start of the Denmark Open, and it was evident in my game today," said Jun Hao.

Jun Hao will focus on the Kumamoto Masters in Japan next.

Fourth seed Jonatan however, was pleased to exact sweet revenge.

"I lost to Jun Hao at my home ground a few months ago and that was hard to accept. I came prepared, and changed some of my game plan against him. He was not his usual self though, I didn't see him moving very aggressively," said Jonatan.

Jonatan will take on China's Lu Guangzu next for a place in the quarter-finals.
