ODENSE: Shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah's campaign has ended in the Denmark Open and now, they can take a break after a hectic run.

On Friday (Oct 18), the duo went down 22-21, 19-21 in 57 minutes to Japan's Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi in the women's doubles quarter-finals at the Jyske Bank Arena. Just a week ago, they had beaten the Japanese pair in the semi-finals of the Arctic Open in Finland.

It marked an end to a two-week of long and grulleing run in Europe.

In Finland, they had reached the final.

It looked as though both had run out of steam but Pearly and Thinaah said they did try to push hard to keep up with the aggressive Japanese pair.

"It's always hard facing this pair. We left a huge gap in the opening game, and we strugged to catch up. They really played well today," said Thinaah.

"We were tired too today. We have been here in Europe for two weeks. Overall, it has been good.

Said Pearly: "Right now, we will get some good rest and come back for the next two tournaments."

They will play in the Kumamoto Masters and China Open in November to collect some points to confirm their spots in the World Tour Finals in China in December.
