Top seeds Wee Kiong-Azriyn reach semis in Indonesian Masters

PETALING JAYA: Doubles shuttlers Tan Wee Kiong-Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayob continued their fine form to march into the semi-finals of the Indonesian Masters in Surabaya on Friday (Nov 1).

The top seeds beat Muhammad Al Farizi-Nikolaus Joaquin of Indonesia 21-19, 21-15 to set up a meeting with another local pair Rahmat Hidayat-Yeremia Erich in the last four.

Low Hang Yee-Ng Eng Cheong also made it to the semis after knocking out Chiang Chien-wei-Wei Chun-wei of Taiwan 18-21, 21-15, 23-21 in another quarter-final match.

They will face Raymond Indra-Patra Harapan of Indonesia, who beat Malaysians Bryan Goonting-Mohd Fazriq Razif 18-21, 21-18, 21-19.

In the men's singles, Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin also made it to the semis and will take on homester Yohanes Saut.

Malaysia's campaign is also still alive in the women's singles as K. Letshanaa will be meeting second seed Liang Ting-yu of Taiwan for a place in the final.
