Aaron-Wooi Yik storm into Korean Masters final


Men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik will take on homesters Kim Won-ho-Jin Yong in the Korean Masters final on Sunday (Nov 10).

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are just one step away from their first title this year after advancing to the Korean Masters final.

World No. 6 pair Aaron and Wooi Yik played superbly to defeat Taiwan's two-time Olympic gold medallist Wang Chi-lin and his new partner Chiu Hsiang-chieh 21-17, 21-16 in just 36 minutes in Iksan City on Saturday (Nov 9).

The Malaysians have now reached their second individual tournament final this year, having finished as runners-up at the All England in March.

Aaron and Wooi Yik will face home favourites Kim Won-ho and Jin Yong in the title match on Sunday (Nov 10).

Won-ho and Jin Yong fought hard to overcome their teammates Seo Seung-jae and Ki Dong-ju 16-21, 21-19, 21-16 to reach the final.
