Soon Huat-Shevon lose to Thai pair in semis at Japan Masters

PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie’s super form at the Japan Masters wasn’t good enough to defeat Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran in the semi-finals on Saturday (Nov 16).

The world No. 10 Malaysians fell 18-21, 20-22, 14-21 to 2021 World Champion Dechapol and his new partner Supissara in Kumamoto, who are currency ranked 201.

Although the Thai pairing is new, Soon Huat-Shevon had already met them at the Arctic Open last month, where they won the second round fixture.

Dechapol-Supissara will now face either Thom-Gicquel-Delphine Delrue of France or China’s Guo Xinwa-Chen Fanghui in the final.
