Chen Long, Lee Yong-dae elected to BWF Hall of Fame


China's former singles star Chen Long has been elected to the BWF Hall of Fame along with South Korean doubles shuttler Lee Yong-dae.

PETALING JAYA: China's Chen Long and South Korea's Lee Yong-dae have been elected to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Hall of Fame.

The duo will be inducted during the World Tour Finals gala dinner on Monday (Dec 9).

Chen Long was part of China's successful era in the men's singles, capturing gold in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and the World Championship title in 2014 and 2015 among numerous other accolades.

Meanwhile, Yong-dae dazzled in the doubles for South Korea and defied the odds to win gold in the mixed doubles with Lee Hyo-jung in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The 36-year-old also won bronze in the men's doubles with Jung Jae-sung in the 2012 London Olympics and was a three-time World Championship silver medallist.
