PETALING JAYA: Mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei have risen to a career-high No. 6 in the latest world rankings.

Tang Jie-Ee Wei moved up from No. 8 to No. 6 in the updated rankings released on Tuesday (Dec 17) after finishing runners-up to China's Paris Olympics champions Zheng Siwei-Huang Yaqiong in the World Tour Finals in Hangzhou on Sunday (Dec 15).

The pair have shown fine progress since they were combined two years ago and are eager to continue performing well in 2025, starting with the Malaysian Open from Jan 7-12 at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.

Meanwhile, independent pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie were also rewarded for their semi-final finish in the Tour Finals as they moved up from No. 10 to No. 7.

It was also joy for men's doubles duo Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani, who rose to their career-best ranking of No. 3 from No. 7 as expected after finishing runners-up in the Finals.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin has officially overtaken Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik as the country's No. 1 after the latter slipped one rung to No. 6.

Aaron-Wooi Yik paid the price for failing to reach the last four in Hangzhou as they relinquished their status as the country's top men's pair for the first time since 2019.

In the men's singles, Lee Zii Jia, who sadly had to retire from his final group match in the Finals against China's Li Shifeng due to a right ankle injury moved up two rungs to No. 6.
