Bin Shen leaves BAM as hunt for new doubles head coach begins

PETALING JAYA: Tan Bin Shen will leave the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) after serving for five years.

On Friday, the national body announced that Bin Shen will part ways on Jan 13 after the Malaysian Open from Jan 7-12.

In a statement released, BA of Malaysia thanked Bin Shen.

"The association express their deepest gratitude to Bin Shen for his dedication and contributions to Malaysian badminton particularly in playing a part in the achievements of former world champion and two-time Olympic Games bronze medal winners, Aaron Chia- Soh Wooi Yik."

"BAM wish Bin Shen continued success as he embarks on new chapter in his career. The association will announce the new head coach for men’s doubles in due course.

Bin Shen said, “It has been a fulfilling journey working with the men’s doubles team. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together, and I look forward to new challenges ahead.”

Said BAM general secretary Datuk Kenny Goh: "Bin Shen has made significant contributions to Malaysian badminton, and his commitment to nurturing talent and champions has been invaluable. We are deeply grateful for his hard work and dedication."

Bin Shen joined BAM as a coach in the men’s doubles department in 2020.
