Kim Her heads to India, will Boe come to Malaysia or Hendra?

PETALING JAYA: Will Mathias Boe, another former player from Denmark, replace Tan Bin Shen as Malaysia's men's doubles head coach?

Boe's contract as the men's doubles coach has ended with India. The Dane had played a big part in the success of national No. 1 Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty of India this year.

Malaysia already have one Dane in the coaching setup as Kenneth Jonassen will begin his job as the national singles coach next month.

In his absence of Boe, India have re-hired Tan Kim Her to beef up their men's doubles department.

Kim Her was in India before and had coached Satwiksairaj-Chirag.

Malaysia also have the option of hiring former world and Olympic champion Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia, who will be retiring from the sport at the home tournament Indonesian Masters in January.

Indonesia have currently named a new men's doubles head coach by appointing Antonius Budi Arianto as a replacement for Herry Iman Pierngadi, who had served for almost two decades.

Herry's exit was expected as he had failed to maintain the standard of the men's doubles in the last few years. Indonesia, who were once untouchables in the department, had experienced a slump in recent times.
