KUALA LUMPUR: It was not a good day in the office for independent women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei.

The world No. 42 Jin Wei suffered a 15-21, 16-21 defeat to India’s world No. 31 Malvika Bansod in the first round of the Malaysian Open at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil today (Jan 8).

Adding to her woes, Jin Wei suffered a stomach cramp and had to receive medical attention after the match.

Last year, Jin Wei managed to clear her first round hurdle before losing to world No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea in the second round.
