KUALA LUMPUR: Men’s doubles shuttlers Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun’s campaign in the Malaysian Open came to an end in the semi-finals.

World No. 14 Wei Chong-Kai Wun, who were Malaysia’s last representatives left in the tournament, went down fighting 26-24, 16-21, 15-21 to China’s world No. 18 Chen Boyang-Liu Yi in 76 minutes at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Saturday (Jan 11).

The defeat meant that Datuk Lee Chong Wei remains the last Malaysian to reach the final in the home Open when he captured the men’s singles title in 2018. In the men’s doubles, 2014 champions Goh V Shem-Lim Khim Wah were the last homesters to make it into the final.
