Sze Fei-Izzuddin reach Indian Open second round

PETALING JAYA: Men's doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani have booked their spot in the second round of the Indian Open.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin, who reached a career-high No. 2 in the latest world rankings, easily defeated teammates Tan Wee Kiong-Nur Mohd Azriyn Ayub 21-16, 21-16 at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium in New Delhi on Tuesday (Jan 14).

It was a good response from the independent pair after they suffered a disappointing first-round defeat at the hands of Denmark's Daniel Lundgaard-Mads Vestergaard in the recent Malaysian Open.

The independent pair will next face either another Malaysian pair Yap Roy King-Wan Arif Wan Junaidi or Germany's Daniel Hess-Marvin Seidel for a place in the last eight.
