PETALING JAYA: National bowler Sin Li Jane won the Professional Women’s Bowling Association (PWBA) Bowlers Journal Rockford Open in the United States on Saturday (May 11).

Competing at the Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois, Li Jane finished with a total pinfall of 5,289, ahead of second-place finisher Dasha Kovalova from Ukraine with 5,221 pins after 24 games.

The United States’ Josie Barnes came in third with 5,208 pins, while Singapore’s Shayna Ng finished fourth with 5,123.

Li Jane had 2,625 total pinfalls from 12 games after two rounds of qualifying, with her first six games (1,412 total) giving her the lead which she maintained going into the final round.

This was Li Jane’s return to the PWBA Tour after taking a three-season hiatus, and her second PWBA title after becoming the first Malaysian to win the Lincoln Open title in 2017 in November.

Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman was the first Malaysian to win a pro title in US when she bagged the Wichita Open in June in 2017.
