Veteran bowler Syafiq set to play elder statesman at Asian C’ships


A true veteran: Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek has featured in five Asian Championships and is looking forward to his sixth.

PETALING JAYA: Being the elder statesman in the national bowling team at a major competition can be a demanding role, but veteran Mohd Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek is ready to roll with it.

At 38, Syafiq will be Malaysia’s oldest and most experienced kegler at the Asian Championships taking place at the Blu–O Rhythm and Bowl in Bangkok from Sept 14-26.
