PETALING JAYA: Patience was the key to Malaysian bowler Rafiq Ismail taking the lead in the men’s singles event of the Asian Championships at the Blu–O Rhythm and Bowl in Bangkok yesterday.

The 27-year-old had to struggle to get a good strike connection from game one to four, before registering a score of 1419 to head the pack.
