Malaysia get two more golds in Asian Championships

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia have bagged two more gold medals in the Asian Championships.

After National bowler Rafiq Ismail bagged the singles gold on Wednesday (Sept 18), the duo of Shaqeem Izwan Teh Shahrul Hafiz Teh and Tun Ameerul Hakim Tun Hasnul Azam took the men’s doubles gold, while Natasha Roslan and Sin Li Jane won the women’s doubles gold at the Blu–O Rhythm and Bowl in Bangkok on Thursday (Sept 19).

Shaqeem and Ameerul won their event with 2,647 pins. South Korea’s Park Dong-hyuk and Bae Jung-hun took silver with a score of 2,615 pins, while another Korean duo Lee Ik-Kyu and Hwang Dong-wook took bronze with 2,596 pins.

In the women’s event, Natasha and Li Jane scored 2,614 pins, while South Korean duo Jung Da-wun and Ja Baek-seung took silver with 2,510 pins.

Another Malaysian duo Nur Syazwani Sahar and Nora Lyana Nastasia Norkamal took bronze with a score of 2,450 pins.
