PETALING JAYA: National bowler Rafiq Ismail made a splendid start in his quest to finish on the podium in the IBF World Cup in Hong Kong yesterday.

The 27-year-old put himself in a good position for the second block today after winning five of his six games in the singles event at Kai Tak Sports Park.
