PETALING JAYA: Natasha Roslan may have conquered the world but she wants more.

The 28-year-old Malaysian bowler revealed that everything feels surreal to her after becoming the first Malaysian woman to win an IBF World Cup women’s singles title.

"Honestly everything just seems surreal to me. To make history by being the first female Malaysian to win the World Cup is pretty overwhelming," she said.

"I believe that there is more in me, I want to win more for my country.

"My process is I know that there is always something that I can improve on, this mindset keeps me chasing so I'm never complacent but everything just feels like a dream and I'm happy that all my hard work is paying off."

Natasha took two games to beat Germany’s Birgit Noreiks 217-166, 226-169 in the women’s singles final at the Kai Tak Sports Park on Friday.

Natasha is the first Malaysian to win the women’s singles title since the inception of the competition in 1972. National teammate Syafiq Ridhwan Abdul Malek won the men’s title in 2012.

It is Natasha’s second world-level title. She also won the 2023 World Championships singles gold medal which earned her the national sports award for women athlete of the year in 2024.
