(Reuters) - Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan will return from a back injury in this month's three-match one-day series against South Africa while batter Ibrahim Zadran has been ruled out with an ankle sprain, the cricket board (ACB) said on Thursday.

Khan was ruled out of this week's one-off test against New Zealand, with the match in India's Greater Noida washed out for the fourth day straight.

Bowler Naveed Zadran, who also missed the New Zealand test with a side strain, is also back in the squad, the ACB added.

Afghanistan, who play home matches outside their country, will host the ODIs against South Africa at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sept. 18, 20 and 22.
