(Reuters) - The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced a revised schedule for their three-test series at home against England on Friday, with the second test being moved from Karachi to Multan.

The series gets underway with two tests in Multan from Oct. 7-11 and Oct. 15-19 while the third test will be played in Rawalpindi from Oct. 24-28.

Karachi was originally the venue for the second test but the stadium is undergoing a major facelift for next year's ICC Champions Trophy, which will also be played in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

"PCB is thrilled to welcome the England men's cricket team back to Pakistan," PCB director Usman Wahla said in a statement.

"Despite minor adjustments, we are committed to supporting fans and ensuring a memorable tour. We look forward to a fiercely competitive test series and showcasing Pakistan's renowned hospitality."

England, who did not tour Pakistan for 17 years after 2005 due to security concerns, will return to the country after defeating the hosts 3-0 in a test series and 4-3 in the Twenty20 format in 2022.

The England men's cricket team will arrive in Multan on Oct. 2.
