(Reuters) - Uncapped wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson has been called up to the England squad for the three-test tour of New Zealand as an injury replacement for Jordan Cox.
With regular gloveman Jamie Smith skipping the tour for the birth of his first child, Cox had been set to earn his first cap in the first test on Thursday but fractured his thumb in a net session last Sunday.
Ollie Pope took the gloves in Christchurch but Robinson will arrive in New Zealand on Saturday in plenty of time for the second test, which starts in Wellington on Dec. 6.
Not to be confused with the 20-test England seamer of the same name, Robinson has scored 4,174 runs at an average of 37.36 in first-class cricket.
