SAINT QUENTIN-EN-YVELINES, France (Reuters) - Britain won the first gold medal on offer in the Olympic track cycling competition at the Paris Games when their women powered to victory against New Zealand in the team sprint final on Monday.

Germany beat the Netherlands in the bronze-medal race at the National Velodrome.
