Alyssa, Sawda shine as records tumble en route to two silvers in Asian meet

NILAI: Teenagers Nurul Alyssa Mohd Farid and Sawda Hasbullah showed the future is bright for Malaysian cycling after anchoring the respective women’s elite and junior team sprint combinations to silver medal starts for Malaysia in the Asian Championships.

Alyssa joined Paris Olympian Nurul Izzah Izzati Asri and Anis Amira Rosidi to pull off a sensational time of 48.458s, which was a national record to qualify for the elite sprint final at the National Velodrome in Nilai yesterday.
