Beasley warns of hype, prefers Sawda to stay grounded

NILAI: Track cycling rookie Sawda Hasbullah (pic) was a revelation in the just concluded Asian Championships in Nilai but cycling technical director John Beasley stressed that her development should not be rushed.

The 17-year-old clocked a world leading time of 1:10.818s to win gold in the girls’ 1km time trial last week and later capped her outing on a perfect note by romping to another gold in the sprint at the National Velodrome in Nilai.
