Diving duo take home another bronze medal for Malaysia


HANGZHOU: Bertrand Rhodict-Enrique Maccartney Harold made a big splash by bagging bronze in their Asian Games debut for Malaysia on Sunday (Oct 1).

The two teenage divers from Sarawak finished third in the men's 10m platform synchro final with 386.07 points.

South Koreans Yi Jae-gyeong-Kim Yeong-nam snatched the silver with their last dive, earning 75.60 to finish with 387.78 points.

Reigning Olympic and world champions Yang Hao-Lian Junjie led from start till the end of the six-dive competition to secure the fourth diving gold medal for China with a total of 492.63 points.

It is the second medal for Malaysia from diving on Sunday with Wendy Ng Yan Yee having partnered Nur Dhabitah Sabri to finish second in the women's 3m springboard synchro event earlier.

Enrique will return on Monday (Oct 2) to compete in the men's 1m springboard individual with Hanis Nazirul Jaya Surya.
