(Reuters) - Everton's shambolic season hit a new low at Goodison Park on Thursday with a humiliating 5-1 loss to Italian club Atalanta in the Europa League.

The Merseyside club were already out of the competition and made a number of changes to their starting line-up and the Italians ran away with the contest when they scored three late goals in a half-empty stadium.
