(Reuters) - The Football Association's retrospective ban on Everton striker Oumar Niasse for "diving" against bottom-of-the-league Crystal Palace won't help get the Premier League side out of their current predicament, Palace manager Roy Hodgson said on Thursday.

Niasse fell after minimal contact from Palace defender Scott Dann to earn a penalty that Everton's Leighton Baines converted in last weekend's 2-2 draw. Niasse was banned for successful deception of a match official on Wednesday.
