Hafizuddin’s crucial saves keep Malaysia’s hopes alive

PETALING JAYA: Goalkeeper Hafizuddin Othman has bounced back with a string of fine saves to help Malaysia secure a 1-1 draw against Pakistan in the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup but he will have to do more to impress national coach A. Arulselvaraj. A below par performance from Hafizuddin against South Korea saw him taken to task by Arulselvaraj and the response was immediate.

Hafizuddin made two crucial saves, including a point blank shot from Pakistan captain Umar Bhutta, to ensure the draw and keep Malaysia’s chances alive in the competition.
