PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) striker Syafiq Ahmad is seizing the Malaysia Cup stage to make a good case that he can be the leading marksman for Malaysia in their AFF Mitsubishi Cup campaign next month.

The 27-year-old opened his account with a superb headed goal in the 37th minute to help the Southern Tigers demolish Kelantan 3-0 in their quarter-final first-leg match at the Sultan Mohd IV Stadium in Kota Baru on Saturday.
