SEA Games: Vietnam beat Harimau Muda 2-1

PETALING JAYA: It's game over for Malaysia in the Cambodia SEA Games.

The Harimau Muda squad led by coach E. Elavarasan are out of semi-final contention after losing to Vietnam 2-1 in a closely fought Group B battle at the Visakha Stadium in Phnom Penh on Monday (May 8).

Vietnam’s top striker Nguyen Van Tung was the toast, scoring two goals in the seventh and 33rd minute.

Malaysia’s consolation was scored in the 43rd through Aiman Afif Md Afizul.

In Group B, Thailand and Vietnam have confirmed their spots for the semi-final.

Malaysia have one more game left, as they take on Singapore on May 11.
