Harimau Malaya to take on South Korea in Asian Cup's Group E

PETALING JAYA: Harimau Malaya have been placed in Group E of the AFC Asian Cup with sides like Jordan, Bahrain and South Korea.

The draw was officially made at the Katara Opera House in Qatar on Thursday (May 11).

National coach and South Korean Kim Pan-gon would surely look forward to facing his home nation, known as the Taegeuk Warriors, in the tournament, which will be held from Jan 12 to Feb 10.

This will be Malaysia’s fourth appearance in the Asian Cup. In the three previous editions they took part in (1976, 1980 and 2007), Malaysia failed to qualify for the knockout stages.

Qatar are defending champions of the tournament.
