PETALING JAYA: A bunch of hooligans tried to mar the match between Selangor and Perak but it did not stop Ayron Del Valle from having a ball.

The Colombian was truly on song when he scored two goals and made one assist in the Red Giants’ 4-0 demolition of Perak in the Super League at the Perak Stadium in Ipoh on Saturday.

Valle found the net in the 41st minute to give Selangor the lead and assisted Faisal Halim for their second goal in the 45th. Their teammate Mukhairi Ajmal Mahadi also joined in the party by scoring another in the 51st minute.

The game however, was marred by a commotion when Selangor and Perak fans clashed in the 62nd minute but security personnel were able to step in and stop the situation from escalating.

Not affected by the incident, Valle was on target again eight minutes later to contribute his second goal. The 33-year-old now has nine goals in the league but remained humble.

“I’m happy to help the team get three points. The goals came because of our hard work. Not just me but everyone,” said Valle.

“When we work together, there will be results, and that’s what we are striving for in Selangor.”

On the incident, Valle said: “I’m glad the authorities handled it.”

His eyes are now firmly fixed on the next game against Kedah at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Wednesday. “Kedah are a good team, but we are a big club too. We want to show we have what it takes to get momentum going. We want to win all games, it doesn’t matter who the opponents are.”

Meanwhile, police arrested four men who are believed to have been involved in the ruckus in the stadium.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Yahaya Hassan said the men arrested between the ages 18-26 were supporters from both teams.

“We can confirm that the incident occurred at 9.17pm, and that police on duty at the site managed to bring the situation under control. The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting,” he said in a statement yesterday. ACP Yahaya added that one of the arrested also tested positive for ganja.
