Gary and Co out to exact revenge over Kuala Lumpur

PETALING JAYA: Sabah midfielder Gary Steven Robbat (pic) has had enough with two defeats against Kuala Lumpur.

And all he has in his mind is to lead the team for a revenge when they face the City Boys in the Super League at the Likas Stadium in Kota Kinabalu today.

This season, the Rhinos lost 0-2 to KL in the Super League on April 5 and 1-2 in the FA Cup on May 28.

The 31-year-old Gary wants to end the rut and put a smile back on the faces of Sabahan fans.

“We’ve lost to them twice this year, which is in the back of our minds. So, we want to make sure we get a win in front of our fans,” said Gary.

“But we know Kuala Lumpur aren’t an easy side to beat. They are organised with the way they play and quick with their counters.

“They have hardworking midfielders like Kenny (Pallraj), Seb (Sebastian Avanzini) and Zhafri (Yahya), who can wear down their opponents.

“We are in for a battle but we are ready to face them.

Gary also added the boys were motivated to bounce back after their heavy 1-5 defeat to Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) in Likas last Wednesday.

“We know what went wrong that led to that defeat. A lot of preparation has been done now for the game against Kuala Lumpur because we want to get back to our winning ways,” he said. Sabah are currently fifth in the league with 36 points, while Kuala Lumpur are seventh with 28 points.
