PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) will not take their opponents Kelantan United lightly when they meet at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium in Kota Baru tonight.
JDT coach Esteban Solari said his men will perform with high discipline to maintain their unbeaten record in the league.
“I still think it will be a difficult match because it will take place at the opponents’ turf and Kelantan United will definitely want to prove something,” he said.
“Regardless, we will give our best with a high-intensity game to continue the winning momentum in the league competition.’’
JDT, who were beaten 3-1 by South Korea’s Ulsan Hyundai in the Asian Champions League last Tuesday, definitely want to bounce back and regain their consistency.
Argentine Solari did not reveal his plans for the starting line-up but it is possible that Brazilian Diogo Luis Santo may be fielded in place of Matthew Davies for tonight’s clash.
Davies was involved in national team duties and also in the Asian Champions League campaign.
JDT won their 10th straight Super League title with four matches to spare three weeks ago. The Southern Tigers have won 21 out of 22 matches.
They have 64 points from 22 matches, giving them an unassailable 12-point lead over second-placed Selangor, who have 52 points from 23 matches.
