PETALING JAYA: It is Terengganu versus Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the Malaysia Cup final!

The Turtles booked a spot in the final after beating Kuala Lumpur 4-2 on aggregate in the semi-finals.

The team, led by coach Tomislav Steinbruckner, beat the City Boys 2-1 in the second leg at the Sultan Mizan Stadium in Gong Badak on Friday (Nov 3). In the first leg, Terengganu also won 2-1 in Kuala Lumpur.

Terengganu scored their first goal in the 42nd minute when Croatian striker Ivan Mamut received a pass from winger Norhakim Hassan and unleashed a superb left-footed shot inside the box.

At the start of the second half, the City Boys upped the ante and deservedly got an equaliser when Colombian playmaker Romel Morales finished off a cross from winger Haqimi Azim Rosli in the 51st minute.

But Mamut provided another moment of brilliance 15 minutes later when he received a pass from midfielder Liridon Krasniqi and unleashed a stunning shot from outside the box.

Kuala Lumpur tried to mount a comeback but it wasn't enough as Terengganu held on to their win and qualified for the final after five years.
