PETALING JAYA: Nur Azfar Zikri Azhar (pic) is hoping to hit the heights of 2021 again after confirming his move to Perak from Terengganu.
The former Malaysia Under-23 player, who played in the MFL Cup 17 times but only once with the Super League, hopes that his move to the Seladang will rejuvenate his career.
The player fondly known as ‘’Kaka’’ was once touted as hot prospect for Malaysia but he has not been in his best form since last year.
In 2021, the left winger was the star of Malaysia’s AFC Asian Cup Under-23 2022 qualifying campaign when he scored two goals in three games.
Now that he has made the move, the 23-year-old is only thinking of getting more regular action and improving himself.
“It’s nice to be in a new environment where I can challenge myself.
“I know I have to fight hard to earn minutes on the pitch, which I intend to do.
“The coach wants that and I aim to deliver that,” said the Kuala Lumpur-born lad.
“The club are slowly rebuilding and they now aim to be among the top five or six teams in the Super League, to finish better than they did this year for the upcoming season.”
This season, Perak finished ninth in the league and went all the way to the Malaysia Cup semi-finals.
Besides Azfar, the club also announced the signing of left wingback Tommy Mawat Bada.
