Harimau Muda lose 0-2 to Vietnam in AFC Under-23 Asian Cup


PETALING JAYA: The national Under-23 team suffered their second defeat in the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup after losing 0-2 to Vietnam on Saturday (April 20).

Vietnam broke the deadlock in the 39th minute through midfielder Khuat Van Khang and took the lead heading into half-time.

Malaysia then gave away their second penalty of the tournament, which was converted by Vo Hoang Minh Khoa in the 60th minute.

The loss comes after the Harimau Muda lost their opening Group D fixture against Uzbekistan on Wednesday, with a similar 0-2 scoreline.

Malaysia have yet win points in the group stage and will play their group fixture against Kuwait on Tuesday (April 23).
