PETALING JAYA: Faisal Halim will undergo a third surgery to recover from his acid attack wounds on Thursday (May 9) evening.
Selangor Football Club (SFC) technical committee chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar said the skin allograft procedure could be done today as the donor skin has arrived at the hospital in Shah Alam.
"It would be performed today. In terms of recovery, Mickey is recovering fast because of his strong will. He is having a soft diet and started to do some basic lower body exercises," he said.
"The club is working on a daily basis with the hospital and we have also sent our physiotherapist to help him with the exercises.
"We want to ensure his lower body muscle does not deteriorate. A player like Faisal needs to be on the move all the time," said Shahril, who also confirmed that the club is working hand in hand with the National Sports Institute.
On Sunday, Selangor player Faisal Halim suffered fourth-degree burns after being splashed with acid at a shopping mall in Petaling Jaya.
