Fuellkrug: Danes are the ‘most organised’

HERZOGENAURACH: Germany striker Niclas Fuellkrug thinks the Euro 2024 hosts will have a tough task in getting past Denmark in their last-16 clash tomorrow.

“I think the Danes are the most organised opponents we could have faced. They are hard-working, they have a structure with and without the ball and an idea of how each cog fits into the other,” he told MagentaTV.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side will face the 2021 European Championship semi-finalists in Dortmund on the back of a 1-1 draw in their final Group A game against Switzerland, with substitute Fuellkrug grabbing a late leveller.

Germany won their group while Denmark finished second in Group C after three draws. Fuellkrug is still wary of the 1992 champions and their football heritage

“You have to win against big nations,” added the 31-year-old Borussia Dortmund attacker. — dpa
