PETALING JAYA: Selangor winger Faisal Halim is expected to make a return to the pitch in three weeks.
According to Selangor chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal, Faisal’s recovery has been going well. The 26-year-old won’t be back kicking the ball just yet but will start with light training..
"Faisal’s injuries have been healing well since our last press conference on June 13," said Johan after visiting the Kompleks 3K in Subang Jaya with the Regent of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on Sunday (June 30).
"He can be back on the pitch doing some light exercises in two to three weeks, not playing football fully yet."
After the horrific incident on May 5 where Faisal was splashed acid at a mall, he made his first public appearance earlier this month, bearing witness the extend of his injuries to his arm, torso, and head.
The positive news on the Harimau Malaya Faisal's recovery comes after his father, Abdul Halim Saad said his son had recovered almost 95 percent.
He said that Faisal had started doing light exercises and shown positive progress day by day.
Meanwhile, Johan confirmed that the club had sent in their appeal regarding the Malaysian Football League (MFL) board of directors's decision to fine the club.
On June 25, MFL had fined Selangor RM100,000 for failing to show up for their Charity Shield fixture against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) on May 10.
The board of directors then lightened the fine to RM60,000 after Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah slammed the league for their harsh and excessive punishment.
