Tajikistan return for Pestabola Merdeka


PETALING JAYA: The line-up for Pestabola Merdeka has been confirmed by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), with Tajikistan headlining the cast.

Tajikistan, ranked no.102 in the world, will return to defend their trophy after winning the competition last year by beating Malaysia 2-0 at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Malaysia, ranked no.135 are hoping to snatch the trophy from them this time around.

The other nations taking part are the Philippines (no.146) and Lebanon (no.117).

The tournament will be held during the upcoming FIFA International match calendar between Sept 2 to 10 at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil.
