PETALING JAYA: The Kita Untuk Kita (K2K) Juara initiative aims to create a positive social impact through sports within low-income housing communities in Klang Valley.
A collaborative initiative by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), Think City, PadangBolaSepak (PBS) and MyCPR, launched a Life Skill Workshop designed to equip residents with essential life-saving skills and foster community resilience.
The initiative has organised a series of grassroots sporting programmes across 10 Public Housing and People’s Housing Projects (PPR) since its launch in May.
These programmes aim to foster personal and professional growth, skill development, and a stronger sense of belonging among residents.
The programme includes grassroots coaching courses which enable participants to pursue the basic coaching licences accredited by the Football Association of Malaysia through FAS.
PBS founder and K2K Juara’s programme director Khalilul Rahman Mokhtaruddin said the initiative is more than just a sports programme.
“It is a movement aimed at transforming lives and building stronger, more vibrant communities,” he said.
“Our collaboration with MyCPR and Ikram Health is a testament to our commitment to holistic community development.
“This ensures that the residents not only gain sports skills but also life-saving and career-enhancing knowledge,” he said.
The programme also includes CPR and basic first-aid, alongside career sports workshops, designed to inspire the youth to explore various roles within the sports industry beyond being athletes.
Participants also have the opportunity to visit the FAS Training Facility in Shah Alam, getting behind-the-scenes access and interactions with sports experts, skill enhancement, and insights into various career paths within the sports industry.
